ADEN presents BURAK PEKOĞLU

“REFLECTIONS OF FROZEN MOMENTS”

Burak Pekoğlu is an extremely talented, eager and active young artist.  October 4, 2003 will mark the opening for Mr. Pekoğlu's first solo exhibition entitled "Reflections of Frozen Moments".  The work that will be on display is a collection of work created over the past three years from student work to studies.  These works move from mere "studies" to imagery that reflects Mr. Pekoğlu's emotional moments and the journey of these moments from his inner world to the real world.

Burak Pekoğlu is a senior at Robert College where he has won numerous art awards in various art competitions.  He has received awards in the areas of 3D competition at the 2002 Alumni Art Contest, logo design at the 2003 Theater Festival Competition and 2D at the 2003 Alumni Art Contest.

Mr. Pekoğlu has apprenticed under the sculptor Irfan Korkmazlar for the past three years where he learned Mr. Korkmazlar's principles and technique of sculpting.  He has also learned fundamental drawing skills from Mexican American artist Ronald Lopez.  Through the guidance, comments and support of these two artists Mr. Pekoğlu has been able to pull from within himself and create the works which will be on display.
